Fairuz commenced and completed her pupillage at Messrs John Yong & Irene Song in 2010 and she was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya the following year. She has gained extensive legal experience in the practice of general and civil litigation since then.
In 2018, she founded Messrs Fairuz & Co. as a sole proprietor. She joined Messrs Alison Lye & Suzanne as a partner to expand the litigation arm in 2020 and she is now the head of the litigation department in Messrs Suzanne, Lye, Fairuz & Yaw.
Fairuz’s main area of practice is in general and civil litigation whereby she is routinely sought after by clients from various backgrounds i.e. individuals to corporate entities to assist them in handling a wide range of claims and disputes not only in court proceedings but also through other alternative disputes resolutions such as arbitration and mediation.

AMONGST NOTABLE PRACTICE EXPERIENCE:
- She has acted for a well-known F&B restaurant in protecting their well-known trademark by issuing cease and desist notices to various infringers throughout Malaysia and obtained injunctions in the High Court against the infringers who used similar trademark for their restaurants.
- She has handled various divorce and matrimonial matters covering various issues including adultery claim against 3rd party, division of matrimonial assets, custody of children, maintenance for children and spouse etc.
- She has acted for investors who were scammed in an online investment.
- She has handled several group actions for homeowners against developers for late delivery of vacant possession.
- She has handled a claim for a well-known franchisor in F&B business against franchisee who violated the franchise agreement.
